I live in Eaton Rapids,  Michigan, known as the
"Island City" as our downtown area is an island
surrounded by the Grand River.   I am married to
a wonderful and handsome man, Paul, who is the
Police Chief here. Our daughter, Andrea, lives and
works in Washingon DC.
We also have two fuzzy children, Pretzel (that's her in
the photo!), and Taz, a Siamese cat.

I have been painting for about 20 years.  It was
something that I picked up when my daughter was
small and my husband was always working, and now
I can't stop painting!  Like many others, I started out
by doing craft shows. Then I did home craft shows, and then my own store. From there I started publishing, and my first book, "Oh, Snow" came out in 2001.  Since then I have published 3 more books on my own, and 3 others with othe artists, and over 160 pattern packets and numerous magazine articles. I teach internationally and at local conventions and chapters.

I am the Vice Chairman of our City Planning Commission,  and I am also a docent at the Michigan Historical Museum and serve as the Vice President of the Docent Guild there.  I've recently started volunteering as a "School Marm"
at our local historical "village" in the 1870 one room school house that was moved there.

I serve as a Royal Ambassador with the Royal and Langnickel Brush Company and I am also a Decoart Helping Artist. Both companies help support Chapter seminars, so contact me if you are interested in having me teach at your chapter!

You may have heard about my project to create new ornaments for the Library
of Congress in Washington DC in 2005.  That project was very successful and we had over 300 new handpainted book-ornaments grace the tree in the Great Hall of the Library of Congress in December, 2005.  It was a pleasure for me to organize this project and to see it carried out by so many wonderful artists, and even more exciting to meet many of those artists in Washington!

In April, 2006, I again traveled to Washing-
ton, DC, where I was honored to present
an egg I painted for the State of Michigan
to the Laura Bush for the White House. We
were thrilled to meet Mrs. Bush and got a
chance to briefly speak to her.

Again in 2007 I represented the state of Michigan by painting the State Easter Egg.

I am now doing some licensing of my designs with Next Day Art in Portland, Maine.  You may have seen some of my cupcake designs in Hobby Lobby or my teddy bears on gift bags in various stores.

More projects are in the works! Stay tuned!
